SALE INCLUDES WAR CLUB/TOMOHAWK ONLY: This unique, handmade club is a one-of-a-kind reproduction of an American Indian war club used for centuries (by mountain men and Native American warriors alike) leading up to the late 19th century. It was made purely with methods and materials available to tribes at the time. NO modern/synthetic materials with the exception of “artificial” sinew used as thread. The construction of this club is just as authentic as the end product (with inevitable imperfections to prove it!), and therefore it is perfect for Rendezvous, Powwows, other historical reenactments or merely as an addition for collectors of authentic historical memorabilia! It has been adorned with horse hair and can be left as is but also leaves room for possible further adornments that are personal to its owner.

Construction and adornments:
HEAD: The head of this war club is a rounded river-rock.
The head of the club as well as the handle has been wrapped and secured with rawhide that has been stained to give a more authentic, antiqued appearance.
The body of this club has been left with its natural curvature to amplify its unique character.
This club has also been adorned with real rabbit fur.
BEADS: It has been beaded with large (6/0) beads as would have been available to Native Americans through trade much longer than the smaller (11/0…) beads that became available in the 19th century. The beads have been secured with a homemade hide-glue that has also been antiqued for authentic appearance.
Often, detailed beadwork designs and even certain colors were used to represent specific tribes or warrior societies therein. The beadwork on this club consists of a neutral pattern (stripes) so that it can ideally be used in a reenactment by any tribe or mountain man while maintaining its authenticity due to being a “neutral” pattern.
LANYARD: the lanyard consists of buckskin and was used to fit around the wrist for two primary reasons: 1) to prevent losing the weapon if it slips from the hand in battle, and 2) to allow use of other weapons such as a pistol (as shown in picture) while being able to easily grab the club after firing, especially if on horseback.
