Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique "Named" Nineteenth Century Ceremonial Fraternal "Patriarchs Militant" IOOF Odd Fellows Sword, made by the Cincinnati Regalia Co. Cincinnati Ohio USA. This is Very Rare as theThe Patriarchs Militant are the Uniformed Branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), One of the Oldest and Largest Fraternal Orders in the World Today. The Patriarchs Militant were established by the Sovereign Grand Lodge - The International Governing Body of Odd Fellowship - back in 1885. The Blade is Etched with the Former Owner's Name "G.L. Hunt". It is also is Signed by the Maker Cincinnati Regalia Co. Cincinnati O. The Steel Metal Scabbard is Original has Intricate Applied Ornate Designs including "Pax Aut Bellum" for Peace or War, "PM" for Patriarchs Militant, with Ornate Bottom with Acorn. The Sword measures approx. 37" long with the Scabbard. The Sword itself measures approx. 36 1/8" long with a 20 1/8" Blade. The Sword has a Wire Wrapped Leather Handle and Aristocratic Crowned Globe Pommel. The Leather Has Some Splits From Age. The Brass Cross Guard has Ornate Designs in High Relief of "King's Crown, Sword and Staff" and "The Three Links Of Odd Fellowship"
